I can’t remember exactly when I first heard Bob Dylan’s The Lonesome Death of Hattie Carroll, but it was when I was young and impressionable. In fact, this song inspired me to become a lawyer. Not knowing any better. While my idealism has been rubbed out by age and experience, I hope this cover rekindles the best in our legal profession, no matter the cost. We’ve come this far.
