Welcoming our newest colorado lawyers and reaffirming our oath
Fall 2025 oath of admission
October has been a busy month, but likely the most notable event was the fall swearing in ceremony that had 380 new attorneys being sworn in by the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court Monica M. Márquez. Along with the several new Colorado attorneys were several judges and practicing attorneys who took the opportunity to reaffirm their oaths.
MVL Volunteer Appreciation
Metro Volunteer Lawyers held its annual Volunteer Appreciation Event on Thursday, October 23, where the DBA and MVL celebrated the volunteers who selflessly do exceptional work to bridge the access to justice gap. And immense thanks to our sponsors: Gem Family Law; Wheeler, Trigg, O’Donnell, LLP; and the Judicial Arbiter Group, Inc.

As late night TV show hosts are being pulled off the air, news outlets are being sued for their reporting on the Trump administration, and media companies are consolidating into massive corporations, the threat to free speech in the press has never been greater. Longtime media lawyers and free speech advocates Steve Zansberg and Tom Kelley will be speaking on the current threat of government censorship, and how these actions are endangering a central pillar of our democracy. They will outline the legal challenges to these efforts at censorship that are in process or forthcoming, and they will speak about what young lawyers who want to join the fight to protect the First Amendment can do to help.
