BY SIET MILNE-WRIGHT
1. Where did you go to Law School?
UCLA School of Law
2. Where do you work?
First JD District Attorney’s Office
3. Where have you lived?
I’ve been in Colorado for 16 years now, but before that, I mostly lived along the I-10 corridor (Phoenix, San Antonio, and LA) plus six months in London as a college student.
4. What is the best advice you’ve ever received?
Try things. You learn more from failure than success.
5. How do you de-stress?
Go outside. Taking walks kept me sane during COVID.
6. What is your favorite movie?
You ever see that really old movie, Empire Strikes Back?
7. What has been one of your most memorable DBA experiences?
Serving as DBA President at the start of the COVID pandemic. I was amazed at how staff and my board adapted and pulled together so quickly.
8. If you could have dinner with any historical figure, who would you choose and why?
Jane Austen. I’m married to a novelist and have seen the challenges of that industry. Would be fascinating to hear what it was like for a woman writing at the turn of the 19th century.
9. What is one item on your bucket list?
Visiting Bhutan. The handful of people I’ve met who have taken the trip all talk about it like nowhere else on Earth.
10. What’s your favorite book and why?
I read a lot, but the first book I ever read for pleasure was the Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy and I still love it. Might be just a touch too British and zany.
