  1. Where do you work?

I am the founder and solo practitioner at BLN LAW LLC in Lakewood, CO. I practice almost exclusively family law but also handle some immigration matters.

2. Why did you become a lawyer?

I became a lawyer because I believe in justice and that one of the most critical ways to preserve the Rule of Law is through attorneys practicing and representing the interests of everyday people. In turn, rules are enforced and therefore our democratic nation is protected.

3. Are you currently binge watching any shows?

Your Honor.

4. How do you de-stress?

I get out on the water paddleboarding as often as I can during warmer weather. I also enjoy cooking while listening to music, it helps me decompress.

5. If you could have dinner with any historical figure, who would   you choose and why?

It would be an incredible experience to share a meal with Ruth Bader Ginsburg. From her own experiences with discrimination to her contributions toward gender equality and women’s rights serves as a personal inspiration and reminder to persevere even when the going gets tough.

 6. What is the best advice you’ve ever received?

This may not be advice per se, but, “if you win, you win, if you lose, you learn”. This is important to be mindful of, in many ways, as a litigation attorney.

 7. What is your favorite law school memory?

In my first year, Chief Justice Monica Márquez gave a speech to the incoming law students about how incredible it was for us to have made it to law school while giving inspirational advice about the importance of perseverance in the upcoming years.

 8. When did you know you wanted to be a lawyer?

I had a hunch when I was in high school. I’ve always upheld the value of fairness whether in everyday dealings or larger picture issues such as law and policy. I gravitated toward social studies/humanities classes in high school and college because I took an interest in knowing more about why society and its policies are structured the way they are.

 9. Where have you lived?

I am a Colorado native and have lived in Colorado for my entire life. My family goes back several generations, and I am of Native American heritage.

10. Do you have a life motto?

“No one can make you feel inferior without your consent.”  by Eleanor Roosevelt.
