DBA Stands with the RUle of LAw on National LAw Day of Action

On May 1, legal professionals convened at the federal courthouse to mark Rule of Law Day with a powerful demonstration followed by a reaffirmation of their attorney oaths. The ceremony, led by Judge S. Kato Crews, offered a meaningful opportunity to reflect on the enduring principles of justice and the legal profession’s role in upholding them. For many in attendance, standing united in that solemn setting served as a profound reminder of their shared purpose and dedication to the rule of law.

The MVL 2025 Spring Soiree: Sunset to Starlight raised over $76K for Access to Justice

Nearly 200 guests gathered to dine, network, and bid big on live auction items all to support the work of Metro Volunteer Lawyers and fund vital legal services for those who need them most. MVL continues to thrive because of a shared belief in justice and service, carried forward by many.

The DBA Senior Banquet Celebrated Attorneys with 50+ Years of Practice

On May 8th, DBA leaders, past Executive Director Chuck Turner, and Executive Director Nicoal Sperrazza celebrated our members with 50 or more years of practice. It was a moving evening of tributes and awarding our honorees with their 50-year medals.

Mental Health for Attorneys: Breaking the Stigma

May 29th | 12:00 p.m. | Zoom

This training will help attorneys understand the prevalence and impact of mental health challenges in the legal profession. It will identify stigma and misconceptions surrounding mental health and teach strategies to support colleagues (and yourself) with mental health concerns. The goal is to normalize help-seeking behaviors as a strength, not a weakness.

Presenter Bio: Corey G. Cox is a Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Addiction Counselor, and Clinical Supervisor who has worked in the mental health field for over 13 years. He has worked in several different settings, which include: Clinical Admissions, Clinical Supervision, Residential programming, Inpatient programs, Individual Therapy, Co-Responder Services, Crisis Services, Intensive Outpatient Programs, Outpatient Programs, Recreational Therapy, and Case Management. Corey received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and a Minor in Sociology from Kent State University. After completing his undergraduate courses, Corey moved back to Colorado, earning his Master of Arts degree in Counseling from Regis University. Corey is also a former Division I athlete and enjoys participating in sporting events and interacting with the community outside of work.

Program is free to attend but registration is required.
