2024 DBA Awards & Gavel Pass
On July 17, DBA members, friends, and family gathered to celebrate the 2024 DBA Awardees and the changing of leadership. The celebration featured Nicoal Sperrazza receiving her Presidential pin as her presidential term ends. Nicoal passed the gavel to Annie Martínez to begin her presidential year.

DBA YLD Cookie Chaser 5k Meetup
Twelve members of the DBA Young Lawyers Division celebrated finishing the Cookie Chase 5K around Sloan’s Lake Park on July 13, 2024.
DA Candidate Forum
On June 28, DBA members were invited to join an engaging and thought-provoking conversation with the candidates running for Denver District Attorney in the 2024 election. This nonpartisan discussion was moderated by Esteban Hernandez of Axios. This event provided opportunities for meaningful dialogue between the legal community and candidates about the issues that matter most. A reception followed the forum.
Licensed Legal Paraprofessional Swearing in Ceremony
In a special session at the Colorado Supreme Courthouse, the first body of Licensed Legal Paraprofessionals took their Oath of Admission on June 20. Metro Volunteer Lawyers’ own staff member Meagan Dill-Menzer was among those sworn in this summer. A reception was held at the DBA offices immediately following the ceremony. Congratulations for passing the Colorado LLP Examination!
Tennis with the DBA President: The Rematch
The rematch of last autumn’s unique tennis event with Nicoal Sperrazza, President of the Denver Bar Association, brought players of all skill levels together on May 17. The event featured a private “skills and drills” tennis class with tennis pros at the Gates Tennis Center and offered a chance to network on and off the court in the company of esteemed professionals.
MVL Under a Spring Moon Soiree
On Saturday, April 27, the Denver Bar Foundation hosted our annual fundraiser to support access to justice and the work of Metro Volunteer Lawyers (MVL). The record-breaking soiree fundraiser was filled with music, friends, and unique auction items and packages at the DaVita Event Space & Outdoor Patio.
